Welcome to the official tourism website for Bury

Bury Town of culture extended to 2021

Bury, home to icons such as Victoria Wood, Danny Boyle and Elbow, was chosen as the first Greater Manchester Town of Culture in 2020, a prestigious accolade based on the UK City of Culture concept, which was introduced in 2009.

Sadly, due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions on public gatherings, some of our cultural activities have been postponed, while others have gone online.

We’re also delighted that our Town of Culture programme will be able to continue as we have been awarded the Town of Culture accolade for 2021.

Take a look at our events page

For culture lovers Bury Sculpture Centre provides an impressive programme of activity including the works of internationally renowned artists.
