
The Irwell Works Brewery is situated in the former 'Irwell, Steam, Tin, Copper & Ironworks on Irwell Street, Ramsbottom. The buildng dates from 1888 and was built for local coppersmith, Richard Mason. The building, which has been sympathetcially restored in keeping with its Victorian heritage, now houses a 6BBL brewery on the ground floor and brewery tap on the second floor.
The brewery was established in 2010, and the core range of beers plays tribute to the building's industrial history; 'Steam Plate', Best Bitter, 'Tin Plate', Dark Mild, 'Iron Plate', Lancashire Stout, 'Copper Plate' Bitter and' Richard Mason 1888' English Pale Ale.
