A development of Bury Light Night - Transition is a new festival over 2 nights with daytime activities on the Saturday. The festival for 2016 includes elements of light and sound, focused in 3 main areas around the culture quarter of Bury Town Centre, Kay Gardens, Church Gardens and Gallipoli Gardens and outside the Castle Armoury on Castle Street.
The programme includes music, sound sculptures, storytelling, flash fiction and workshops and highlights include:-
Friday 18th Nov 7pm onwards: Sacred Sounds Womens Choir will perform live in sync with beautifully choreographed large format projection on the side of the Castle Armoury to be followed by live music performances.
Saturday 19th Nov 12pm onwards: The Dragon of Unsworth has returned.....join Professor Jigget in our Bakelite Radio in Kay Gardens to find out how he will be dealt with - finale on Saturday 19th outside Castle Armoury where the Dragon will be revealed at 6pm. From then onwards at the Bakelite Radio in Kay Gardens there will be live music, flash fiction performance, live art workshops and food and drink.
On both days experience a beautiful sound garden in the Church Gardens adjacent to Sliver Street - immerse yourself and play along. Opposite in Gallipoli Gardens on the Saturday play with a sund sculpture, delight in the magic of Jez Mansfield and enjoy a bedtime story performance by Dominic Berry at 7pm
