Founded in 1885, Bury FC played a vital role in the town’s culture and economy. From two FA Cup wins and a Wembley scoring record in the early 1900s to more recent promotions in 2011, 2015 and 2019, the club has a rich heritage of success.

Sadly, following on from years of financial turmoil, the club was expelled from the Football League in August 2019 following 125 years of continued membership. It left with it a history of many great matches at Gigg Lane and generations of football fans for whom Saturday afternoons only meant one thing – football.

With developments still progressing towards bringing the club back, in its current form or as a new entity, the town of Bury and football fans from far beyond wish the very best of luck to the supporters of Bury Football Club and hope to see them playing football in the town again soon.
