Bury Parish church is also a spectacular setting for the lunchtime classical concerts that are held on Fridays throughout the year. (Charges apply- please see the website for more details.)
The church, built by architect James Crowther, was opened in 1876. The bell tower and spire were retained from a church previously on the site and are dated 1850. The beautiful carved stone pulpit was given in memory of Roger Kay - founder of Bury Grammar School, which was originally situated in the grounds. The church is the garrison church of the Lancashire Fusiliers.
