One of the best ways to sample some of real ales on offer is to hop onboard a steam train and follow the East Lancashire Railways Rail Ale Trail.  Taking you through stunning countryside and towns and villages  you will discover plenty of fascinating history and some exceptional pubs and of course some perfect pints. Alternatively book onto a  themed Rail Ale Trail Guided Tours with a  professional Blue Badge Tour Guide.   With hilarious stories, historic facts and plenty of knowledge about local ales and some of the best pubs and bars in the area.  Tours last around 4 – 5 hours  and include train tickets,  a bottle of local ale and a hearty pub lunch.
