Rail Ale Trails

Uncover some of the best kept pub secrets along the East Lancashire Railway’s 12 mile route, hear fascinating facts and hilarious stories of the area and its people and of course sample some outstanding local beer!

One of the best ways to sample some of real ales on offer is to hop onboard a steam train and follow the East Lancashire Railways Rail Ale Trail.  Taking you through stunning countryside and towns and villages  you will discover plenty of fascinating history and some exceptional pubs and of course some perfect pints. You can choose your own route by downloading Rail Ale Guide which gives you quirky facts and suggested routes.
 
Alternatively book onto a  themed Rail Ale Trail Guided Tours with a  professional Blue Badge Tour Guide.   With hilarious stories, historic facts and plenty of knowledge about local ales and some of the best pubs and bars in the area.  Tours last around 4 – 5 hours  and include train tickets,  a bottle of local ale and a hearty pub lunch.
